For a technical person like me, I simply believe that the names ( or titles) of these two devices are reflecting their function very clearly, but it is my fault, many our customers purchased a wrong one and need a replacement in the past a few years.  There seems to be some confusion for people with understanding which of these devices they need for the application they are setting up. The High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) was developed in 2002 as an improved means of transferring uncompressed digital video and audio data from a source to a monitor, television, or video projector.
